The Bruins signed top center prospect James Hagens to a three-year entry-level contract, which begins immediately with a prorated cap hit of $975K. Hagens, the seventh overall pick from Boston College, opted for an amateur tryout to start in AHL Providence before joining the NHL roster, where he recorded four points in six games. As the Bruins secure a wild-card spot, Hagens may provide a much-needed boost to the team’s middle six in the final games of the season and playoffs. Despite struggles in recent games, he is recognized as the Bruins’ top prospect and a key player in their future.
