Chicago Cubs pitcher Cade Horton will undergo season-ending elbow surgery to repair his UCL, as announced by manager Craig Counsell. Horton left a recent start with an injury initially diagnosed as a right forearm strain, but an MRI revealed more serious damage. He will consult with Dr. Keith Meister to determine if he needs full Tommy John surgery or an internal brace procedure. The 24-year-old was a standout last season, finishing as the NL Rookie of the Year runner-up.
