Robert Griffin III, the former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner, is aiming for a return to competitive sports by pursuing a spot on Team USA’s flag football team for the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Germany, as flag football will debut at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. He was selected as one of 24 athletes to attend Team USA training camps after impressing at national team trials. Griffin, who has faced injury setbacks in his NFL career, is now focusing on flag football, highlighting its differences from traditional football. This past weekend, Team USA showcased its strength by defeating NFL teams in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic tournament.
