Butler University has appointed Ronald Nored as the new head coach of its men’s basketball team, marking the return of a program legend who played under Brad Stevens during the Bulldogs’ NCAA championship runs in 2010 and 2011. Nored, a 2012 graduate, previously worked on the Atlanta Hawks’ coaching staff and has held assistant positions with the Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets, and Boston Celtics. Athletic director Grant Leiendecker emphasized that Nored was chosen for his vision for the program rather than his past connections. He replaces Thad Matta, who retired recently, with Butler having not reached the NCAA tournament since 2018.
