In his first major league camp with the Mets, Carson Benge is performing well, boasting an .846 OPS in the Grapefruit League. President of baseball operations David Stearns indicated that a decision on Benge’s inclusion in the Opening Day roster has yet to be made, but praised his competitive at-bats and solid right field play. Other contenders for right field include Mike Tauchman and MJ Melendez. Additionally, Francisco Lindor is expected to return from hand surgery before the end of camp.
