The Miami Dolphins announced they will release quarterback Tua Tagovailoa at the start of the new league year, as expected. Tagovailoa, who had a fully guaranteed salary of $54 million, will be designated for post-June 1 release, resulting in a record $99.1 million dead cap hit. Once released, he will be eligible to sign with another team for the veteran minimum salary. Drafted fifth overall in 2020, Tagovailoa’s recent season saw him complete 67.7% of passes for 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.
