The Philadelphia Phillies have secured left-hander Jesús Luzardo with a five-year, $135-million contract extension, which includes a $32.5-million team option and escalators based on Cy Young voting performance. Luzardo’s deal, starting in 2027, features an average annual value of $27 million, ranking him among the highest-paid lefties in baseball. The contract also provides a $1-million assignment bonus for trades until he gains 10-and-5 rights. Luzardo, who posted a 15-7 record and a 3.92 ERA in 2025, was acquired from the Miami Marlins in December 2024.
