According to CBS Sports, a high-ranking executive from another NFL team indicated they would have considered trading for Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa if Miami had included a first-round pick to cover most of his contract. The Dolphins’ new GM, Jon-Eric Sullivan, values draft picks and has struggled to find a buyer for Tagovailoa, who has a fully guaranteed salary of $54 million. With the expectation that he will be released soon, Tagovailoa could sign with another team for the veteran minimum. He was drafted fifth overall in 2020 and had a mixed 2025 season, completing 67.7% of his passes.
