After a shootout win against the Penguins, Igor Shesterkin’s .738 save percentage in shootouts is now the best in Rangers franchise history. In his seven-year NHL career, he has stopped 62 of 84 shootout attempts, ranking fifth in the league since his debut in 2019-20. Head coach Mike Sullivan praised Shesterkin’s elite competitive level, especially following his return from a 13-game injury absence. The Rangers also achieved a 76.9 faceoff win percentage, their highest since 1997-98, as they prepared to face the Blue Jackets.
