In the Sydney leg of the SailGP series, the United States secured its first win in two seasons by defeating Britain and Spain in the final, racing in winds of 8 to 15 knots. Despite only staying on its foils 22% of the time, the USA showcased superior speed and positioning, taking the lead early and maintaining it throughout the race. Britain won the first of three fleet races, with the overall standings placing Britain first with 29 points, followed by Australia with 25 and the USA with 20.
