Observations from Yankees spring training Sunday:
Hess, sir!
Ben Hess, a top Yankees pitching prospect, threw two scoreless innings of relief, successfully retiring Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, and Alec Bohm. Ben Rice had a close call when he crashed into the short wall while attempting to catch a pop-up but emerged unscathed. George Lombard Jr. continued to impress with another highlight play at second base. The Yankees will take an off-day Monday before facing Panama on Tuesday, with Max Fried and Giancarlo Stanton set to debut.
