Bruce Froemming, a longtime MLB umpire, has died at 86 after suffering a fall at home in Wisconsin, resulting in a fatal brain bleed. Over 37 seasons starting in 1971, he officiated 5,163 games, ranking third all-time among umpires, including five World Series and 11 no-hitters. Froemming retired in 2007 and later served as a special assistant to the league’s vice president on umpiring. He is remembered for his significant contributions to baseball and the memorable games he officiated.
