Joel Quenneville became the second coach in NHL history to achieve 1,000 wins when the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 6-5. This milestone comes after Quenneville’s four-year absence from the league, following his resignation from the Florida Panthers due to his handling of a sexual abuse scandal with the Chicago Blackhawks. Quenneville, who has coached for 26 seasons, previously won three Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks and has led the Ducks to improved performance in his first season back. He reached this victory in his 1,825th game, joining Scotty Bowman in this exclusive club.
