The Chicago Blackhawks have signed goaltender Olivier Rodrigue to a one-year, two-way contract for the remainder of the season, carrying a $775K cap charge at the NHL level. Rodrigue, a former second-round pick in 2018, has mainly played in the AHL and ECHL, recording a 3.12 GAA and .897 SV% last season. His signing follows the suspension of prospect goalie Stanislav Berezhnoy, with Rodrigue likely serving as the backup to Drew Commesso. The Blackhawks will need to place Rodrigue on waivers before assigning him to the IceHogs.
