Jeff King, a standout from Pulaski County High School, joined Virginia Tech in 2001, becoming a key player in one of its best recruiting classes. He played 58 games as a tight end for the Hokies before an eight-year NFL career with the Panthers and Cardinals, recording 156 receptions and 12 touchdowns. After transitioning to a scouting role with the Chicago Bears, King was recently promoted to assistant general manager on his 43rd birthday. He is now one step away from becoming an NFL GM, having previously interviewed for the position with the Chargers.
