Former Lions defensive lineman/linebacker Tracy Scroggins passed away on Monday at 56, with the Lions expressing their condolences on social media. Drafted in the second round of 1992, Scroggins spent his entire 10-year career with the team, achieving 60.5 sacks, ranking seventh in franchise history. His family revealed he battled chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and fought its effects after retirement, stating that while the NFL helped him rise from poverty, it also contributed to his early death. Scroggins was among nearly 5,000 players who filed concussion-related lawsuits against the NFL.
