Mitch Bratt, a 22-year-old left-handed pitcher for the Amarillo Sod Poodles, was acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks from Texas as part of the Merrill Kelly trade. Known for his exceptional control, Bratt had a K:BB ratio of 42:5 in 31.2 innings post-trade, but he also allowed 18 home runs last season. Though he was added to the 40-man roster due to Rule 5 eligibility, he may start 2026 in Double-A as the D-backs’ rotation is currently full. As a Canadian, he has the potential to become the most successful pitcher from Canada in franchise history.
