The Philadelphia Flyers will be without defenseman Ty Murchison for the remainder of the season due to an upper-body injury sustained during a January 11th game with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Murchison, who made his NHL debut in December and played three games with the Flyers, had been showing promise with a physical, defense-first style. Although he only recorded six points in 29 AHL games, his hard-hitting presence was noted. The 23-year-old will need to recover before competing for an NHL role next season.
