The NHL has imposed a 20-game suspension on Penguins defenseman Caleb Jones for violating the Performance Enhancing Substances Program, requiring him to enter the Player Assistance Program for evaluation and treatment. Jones, who hasn’t played since late October due to injuries, had a brief conditioning stint in the AHL before sustaining another injury. General manager Kyle Dubas stated that Jones takes full responsibility, despite being unaware of consuming a prohibited substance. With the Penguins’ recent acquisitions, Jones may struggle to find a regular role upon his return, likely ending up on waivers and finishing the season in Wilkes-Barre.
