Yankees hire Mario Garza
Mario Garza has been appointed the Yankees’ new director of international scouting, replacing Donny Rowland, who was dismissed earlier this offseason. Garza, a 44-year-old veteran of the Yankees organization, previously served as the director of baseball development. He will focus on enhancing the team’s international signing strategy, which has struggled with high-profile acquisitions. The Yankees’ decision comes after missing out on top prospect Wandy Asigen, who signed with the Mets.
