The Australian Open implemented its Extreme Heat Protocol for the second time during the tournament due to high temperatures, reaching over 42°C (108°F). The protocol, using a Heat Stress Scale from 1 to 5, mandates play suspension and roof closure at index 5. After Aryna Sabalenka’s match, the roof was closed for Alexander Zverev’s next match due to heat concerns. Temperatures are forecast to drop significantly to 24°C (75°F) by Wednesday, with finals scheduled for the weekend.
