The Royals have signed 36-year-old right-hander Héctor Neris to a minor league deal with a spring training invite. In 2024, he recorded 18 saves with a 4.10 ERA and had a 6.75 ERA last year with 35 strikeouts over 26.2 innings. Neris, a veteran with 643 MLB games and 107 career saves, relies on a split-fingered fastball while struggling with his four-seamer. He will compete for a bullpen spot alongside several other pitchers, including Ryan Bergert and Stephen Kolek.
