The Philadelphia Phillies announced that infielder-outfielder Weston Wilson was claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles after being designated for assignment. Wilson, 31, played 100 games for the Phillies, posting a .242/.328/.428 batting line and hitting for the cycle on August 15, becoming the first rookie in franchise history to do so. His 2025 season was challenging, as he hit only .198 in 52 games. The move came as the Phillies needed to clear a roster spot following J.T. Realmuto’s signing and with Otto Kemp’s emergence providing additional bench flexibility.
