The Seattle Kraken have placed forward Ben Meyers on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury, sidelining him for at least a week after scoring three points in his last two games. In response, they recalled Jacob Melanson, who has had a solid season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds but struggled in the NHL. Meyers’ absence will be felt as he ranks third on the team in hits and second in penalty-kill ice time. Melanson will compete with Tye Kartye for a spot in the lineup.
