According to Aaron Wilson, Texans RB Joe Mixon’s future is uncertain, as a league source indicated he may not return after spending the entire season on the non-football injury list due to a foot/ankle injury. The Texans are expected to officially part ways with Mixon in the upcoming offseason as he becomes a potential cap casualty. Mixon, a former second-round pick, had a productive 2024 season with 1,016 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns before his injury. He is entering the final year of a three-year, $27 million extension with the Texans, due $8.5 million in 2026.
