Freshman Darryn Peterson scored 26 points, and Flory Bidunga added 23 points and 11 rebounds as Kansas defeated Baylor 80-62. Kansas opened with a 19-4 run and maintained a lead despite Baylor’s brief comeback. The Jayhawks went on a 15-3 run to start the second half, securing a comfortable lead for the rest of the game. Baylor’s Cameron Carr led his team with 24 points in a matchup where both teams were unranked for the first time since 1966.
