The Washington Nationals have announced they are ending their broadcasting deal with the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, with Major League Baseball to manage in-market streaming and distribution. Owner Mark Lerner highlighted the partnership with MLB as a chance for technological enhancements and new broadcasting opportunities. This shift concludes a contentious relationship with MASN, which included disputes over rights fees since the Nationals’ relocation in 2005. The move reflects the declining regional sports network model, as the Nationals join six other teams in turning broadcasts over to MLB amid uncertainties with their previous providers.
