The Kansas City Royals will alter Kauffman Stadium’s outfield in 2026 by moving most fences in by approximately 10 feet, while maintaining the center-field distance at 410 feet. General manager J.J. Picollo emphasized the aim is to create a fair ballpark that rewards well-hit balls without becoming overly favorable for hitters. The height of the fences will also be reduced from 10 feet to 8.5 feet in many areas. Kauffman Stadium has historically been a challenging venue for home runs, with only 85 homers recorded in 2025.
