The Rockies have traded for outfielder Jake McCarthy from the Diamondbacks, sending right-handed pitching prospect Josh Grosz in return. McCarthy, a former 39th overall pick in the 2018 draft, had a promising start in 2022, finishing fourth in NL Rookie of the Year voting, but struggled significantly in 2023 and had a brief stint in Triple-A. In 2024, he rebounded with a career-high 142 games, hitting .285 with 25 steals, but faced another downturn in performance this past season.
