The Atlanta Falcons have officially interviewed former quarterback Matt Ryan for the role of president of football operations, with expectations that he will be appointed. Other candidates include Lions COO Mike Disner, Panthers VP Brandt Tilis, 49ers director Josh Williams, and Bears assistant GM Ian Cunningham, who may also be considered for the vacant GM position. Ryan, a 14-year veteran and 2016 MVP, has transitioned to broadcasting since retirement, and if hired, would report to owner Arthur Blank while overseeing the new GM and head coach. The Falcons aim to improve after an eight-year playoff drought, their last appearance coinciding with Ryan’s tenure as starting quarterback.
