Cleveland’s defense has excelled under defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz since 2023, leading the team to consider him for their head coaching vacancy after firing Kevin Stefanski. The Browns are also interviewing offensive coordinator Tommy Rees alongside Schwartz, who previously coached the Lions and served as a defensive coordinator for multiple teams, winning Super Bowl LII with the Eagles. General Manager Andrew Berry praised Schwartz’s coaching abilities, noting he deserves consideration for the head coach role. Additionally, Cleveland has requested interviews with several other coaching candidates, including Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Seahawks defensive coordinator Aden Durde.
