Kyle Shanahan makes no excuses for 49ers’ missed tackles in loss to Seahawks originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
In the 49ers’ 13-3 loss to the Seahawks, coach Kyle Shanahan cited 18 missed tackles as unacceptable, emphasizing that fatigue from three games in 13 days is not an excuse. The defense allowed 180 rushing yards and 181 passing yards, notably a third-and-17 where Kenneth Walker III gained 19 yards despite multiple missed tackles. The team now faces the Philadelphia Eagles in the playoffs, but will be without linebacker Tatum Bethune due to injury. Shanahan noted that players’ GPS data showed they maintained their speed during the game.
