The San Francisco Giants are nearing a one-year deal with free agent right-hander Tyler Mahle, as reported by Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle. Mahle had a promising start in 2025 with a 1.64 ERA before injuries limited him to 125 innings over the past three seasons. Although his strikeout rate has declined, he posted a 2.18 ERA last season, which may be misleading due to high LOB% and favorable home run luck. The Giants, seeking pitching depth, have also signed Adrian Houser and expect Mahle to join Logan Webb and Robbie Ray in their 2026 rotation.
