The Toronto Maple Leafs announced the hiring of Steve Sullivan as an assistant coach following the dismissal of Marc Savard, who had overseen a struggling power play ranked last in the NHL. Sullivan, previously with the Toronto Marlies, is tasked with revitalizing the power play, which currently has a 16% efficiency rate. He is a familiar face in Toronto, having played for the team and served in various roles with the Arizona Coyotes’ front office. His challenge will be to improve the Maple Leafs’ power play as he transitions to the NHL coaching staff.
