The NHL has seen significant trades for the 2025-26 season, yet Yegor Chinakhov, the 24-year-old winger from the Columbus Blue Jackets, remains with the team despite his trade request. The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun speculated that the San Jose Sharks might be a suitable destination for Chinakhov, especially after Columbus acquired Mason Marchment. LeBrun suggested that the Blue Jackets, having traded picks for Marchment, might seek a second-round pick for Chinakhov, though his recent performance raises questions about that valuation. Chinakhov’s struggles, including injuries and limited playing time, have hindered his ability to gain trust from head coach Dean Evason.
