The New York Mets traded utility man Jeff McNeil to the Athletics for pitching prospect Yordan Rodriguez, with the Mets also sending $5.75 million to cover part of McNeil’s contract. McNeil, a two-time All-Star, had a solid 2025 season with 12 homers and a .746 OPS but is the latest core player to leave the team amid an offseason of significant departures. Rodriguez, a 17-year-old prospect, excelled in the Dominican Summer League with a 2.93 ERA and 11.7 K/9.
