Are the Golden State Warriors Finished?

Each week during the 2025-26 NBA season, we will take a deeper dive into some of the league’s biggest storylines in an attempt to determine whether trends are based more in fact or fiction moving forward.

Last week: The Knicks need Giannis Antetokounmpo if their goal is to win a title

Fact or Fiction: The Golden State Warriors are cooked

The Golden State Warriors, despite winning the 2022 title, are struggling in the current season, hovering around .500 with an aging roster led by Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. Their “two-timeline” strategy has not yielded the expected results, as young talents Wiseman, Kuminga, and Moody have underperformed. With limited assets for trades and a lack of offensive efficiency, the Warriors face challenges in competing with top teams. They must either accept a decline or seek new talent to maximize their remaining potential.
