The WNBA Players Association (WNBPA) announced that its members voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike, with 93% participation and 98% in favor. This decision stems from ongoing negotiations with the WNBA regarding revenue sharing; players seek 30% of gross revenue, while the league proposes less than 15%. The players’ strike authorization is now in the hands of the WNBPA executive committee, led by president Nneka Ogwumike. This would represent the first labor stoppage in WNBA history.
