Pittsburgh Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby is poised to tie Steve Yzerman for the longest-tenured captain in NHL history at the start of the 2025-26 season, with both having captained their teams for 19 seasons. Crosby, who became the youngest captain in NHL history in 2007, has led the Penguins to three Stanley Cup Championships and a remarkable 16 consecutive playoff appearances from 2007 to 2022.
