Major League Baseball’s Joint Competition Committee has approved the Automated Ball-Strike (ABS) challenge system for the 2026 season, allowing players to challenge ball and strike calls with up to two challenges per game. This system, already tested in the minors, will not fully automate the strike zone but aims to enhance gameplay and player engagement.
