The NBA has engaged the law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz to investigate allegations that Kawhi Leonard’s endorsement deal with Aspiration was intended to bypass the Clippers’ salary cap, following reports of a $28 million contract and a separate $20 million stock deal. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer stated he introduced Leonard to Aspiration but was unaware of the endorsement and felt “conned” by the company.
