Suryakumar Yadav, India’s T20I captain, has been declared fit to lead the team in the Asia Cup starting on September 9 in the UAE after undergoing surgery for a lower-right abdomen hernia. Following a successful rehab program at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, the 34-year-old will captain the Indian team in the tournament, where they will face UAE in the opening match on September 10 and Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai. Suryakumar’s recovery comes after a strong IPL 2025 season, where he scored 717 runs for Mumbai Indians and continued to perform well in Mumbai’s T20 league for Triumph Knights.
