Wyc Grousbeck will transition from lead owner to alternate governor of the Boston Celtics after the $6.1 billion sale to Bill Chisholm, who will assume the lead role and ownership stake of at least 51% until 2028. While this change may not noticeably affect day-to-day operations, it allows Chisholm to shape the franchise’s future with Grousbeck’s continued involvement in a collaborative effort.
