Packers' Love to undergo thumb surgery, expected to play Week 1



Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love will undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in his left thumb, with hopes he will return to practice next week and be ready for the season opener against the Detroit Lions on September 7. Love sustained the injury during a preseason game and previously missed two games last season due to a knee injury.
