Following the significant trade of Rafael Devers to the Giants, both the Giants and Red Sox executed related roster moves. The Giants promoted left-hander Joey Lucchesi to the active and 40-man rosters, filling the spots vacated by Kyle Harrison, who was traded to Boston; Lucchesi struggled in his debut, allowing two runs in two outs. Meanwhile, the Red Sox designated lefty Zach Penrod for assignment to make room for Harrison, after Penrod’s brief major league stint last year where he posted a 2.25 ERA.
