The New Orleans Saints have signed running back Cam Akers to a one-year contract following his recent tryout with the team. Akers, who previously played for the Houston Texans and Minnesota Vikings in 2024, recorded 444 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with 68 receiving yards and three scores. The former second-round pick will compete for backup roles alongside Kendre Miller, Devin Neal, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire behind Alvin Kamara as he approaches his 26th birthday on June 22, having accumulated 2,413 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns in his career.
