The Tigers have confirmed that outfielder Akil Baddoo will remain with the organization after clearing waivers and accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo. Baddoo previously had a promising start in 2021, but his performance has declined since then, resulting in a .201/.288/.323 line in the majors since the beginning of the 2022 season, while still showing strong numbers in the minors. Despite his struggles, the Tigers value his presence as depth, especially with Matt Vierling on the injured list.
