San Francisco Giants third baseman Matt Chapman will be sidelined for over 10 games due to a sprained right hand, sustained while diving back to first base during a pick-off attempt. An MRI revealed sprained ligaments, and Chapman, who is aiming to return before the end of the first half, has been placed on the injured list. Currently in the first year of a six-year, $151-million extension, he was performing well with a .243/.360/.452 batting line, 12 home runs, and 30 RBIs, while Casey Schmitt is set to start at third base against the Colorado Rockies.
