OKLAHOMA CITY — The NBA and FIBA are progressing with their plan to create a new professional men’s basketball league in Europe, but NBA Commissioner Adam Silver indicated that it will take “measured in years, not months” to launch. Discussions include potential partnerships with the existing EuroLeague and a proposed 16-team structure that integrates with national leagues while enhancing commercial opportunities for both European teams and the NBA brand. Silver emphasized the complexities of stakeholder involvement and announced that NBA owners will discuss future steps in July.
