The Guardians released right-hander Cody Bolton, who had been designated for assignment a week earlier to make room for David Fry on the 40-man roster. Bolton, who has been on the injured list with Triple-A Columbus, made one appearance for Cleveland, allowing three runs in two innings, and had a 5.79 ERA over his MLB career. Although the Guardians could re-sign him to a minor league contract, he now has the option to explore other opportunities in free agency.
